Summer Kids Camp will be July 15-19 from 8AM to 5PM at the North Vernon City Park this year. Camp is open to all children in Kindergarten to 6th grade. Camp costs $25 per child. There is a discount for families with more than one child. Each additional child in the same family costs $15. If you are interested in signing up your child(ren), please fill out the registration form at the top of the page. Payment is due at the time of registering. There will be a link to follow at the end of the registration form to make your payment. Financial assistance is available (fill out the financial assistance section on the registration form).
We are also looking for volunteers to help at the camp. Anyone that is in 7th grade or older is able to help. You must be able to pass a background check and enjoy working with children. Please sign up to volunteer and we will contact you with more information.
Monday- Under the Stars
We will be doing space related activities and taking a field trip to the library to do gravity art.
Tuesday- In Your Wildest Dreams
We will be doing activities related to nature and wilderness. We will be taking a field trip to the Wildlife Refuge, we have a guest to teaching us survival skills, and we will have a guest from the Recycling Center coming to do activities.
Wednesday- Lego of Your Summertime Blues
We will be doing Lego themed activities and taking a field trip to watch the LEGO movie 2.
Thursday- Wizarding World
We will be doing Harry Potter themed activities and we will have a magic show.
Friday- Ninja Training
We will be doing activities with the military, police, and martial arts black belts. We will also have an end of camp celebration with bouncy houses.
Our camp director this year is Casey Ernstes. Casey has been a teacher for 9 years. She has been teaching at Scipio Elementary School since March of 2016. She is also a board member for the Jennings County Youth Foundation.
